DOST-PCHRD scholar bags 2 awards at the Mga Natatanging Mag-aaral ng Medisina ng Pilipinas 2026 Competition

Ms. Nicole Jazzmine Escober, a scholar of  the Department of Science and Technology – Philippine Council for Health Research and Development’s (DOST-PCHRD) MD-PhD Molecular Medicine Program, was awarded at the Mga Natatanging Mag-aaral ng Medisina ng Pilipinas (MNMMP) 2026 Competition organized by the Association of Philippine Medical Colleges – Student Network (APMC-SN) held on April 11, 2026 at the De La Salle Health and Medical Sciences Institute.

Ms. Escober was able to take home the following awards with her exemplary performance in the areas of academics, research, leadership, and socio-civic engagement:

1. Gawad Para Sa Mga Natatanging Mag-aaral ng Medisina ng Pilipinas- National Awardee, Top 4 Nationwide

2. Gawad Para sa Natatanging Mag-aaral sa Larangan ng Pananaliksik

The APMC-SN is the national alliance of medical student councils in the Philippines. Its annual MNMMP competition was launched last December 2, 2025 to provide recognition to outstanding medical students in the country.

The MD-PhD in Molecular Medicine scholarship is the first and only dual MD-PhD program in the country, in collaboration with the University of the Philippines Manila (UPM). It aims to train aspiring physician-scientists for careers dedicated to advancing health through biomedical research.
