THE PROBLEM

Parents of children with developmental disabilities often face difficulties in managing appointments across multiple therapy services, this has been deeply studied and observed in Autism PH and Autism Awareness PH community members. To address the lack of accessibility of experts, developmental pediatricians, speech pathologists, occupational therapists, SPED school teachers, a therapy appointment, reservation, screening, and intervention software may be beneficial in these situations.

THE SOLUTION

Mylo Inc. is an internationally awarded tech startup committed to enhancing healthcare through innovative, user-centered solutions. In 2023, Mylo Inc. designed and developed MYLO SPEECH BUDDY now, MYLO – SPEAKCLINIC – a speech therapy support application that partners with therapists to help children with speech delays and autism. It focuses on using basic words and interactive exercises to improve children’s daily lives. Mylo is not a full curriculum–it’s a tool that supports speech development in a fun and engaging way. The system facilitates seamless appointment management with developmental pediatricians, speech therapists, occupational therapists, and therapy centers. By streamlining communication and access to experts, it reduces the administrative burden for parents and the experts as well. Thus, ensuring timely access to essential services.

TECHNOLOGY DEVELOPMENT STATUS

Mylo – SpeakClinic app is currently at Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 9 and is ready for market adoption. A trademark application for MYLO and MYLO Speech Buddy has already been filed in the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHIL).

MARKET VIABILITY

Mylo Inc. has established a paid partnership with the City of Taguig, which paves the way for the initial deployment of Mylo Connect. In addition, they have already engaged with the Department of Education’s Special Inclusion Division and the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s Innovation Department to explore pilot implementation of their technologies. At present, they have been informed that their technology solution is undergoing mapping in preparation for pilot deployment.
